Steps to Add and Configure
a New Internet E-mail Account
Use the following
steps to add and configure a new Internet e-mail account with Outlook
Express: 1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
3. In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click Add,
and then click Mail.
4. In the Display Name box, type the name that you want others
to see when you send a message, and then click Next.
5. In the E-mail Address box, type the e-mail address for
the account that you are using (for example, "janedoe@microsoft.com"),
and then click Next.
6. Under E-mail Server Names, click the appropriate incoming
e-mail server type, which is POP3, and then type the names
of your incoming and outgoing e-mail servers. The incoming and outgoing e-mail
servers are the same mail.yourdomain.com
Click Next.

7. Type in your Account
name (which is your entire email address) and your Password in
the Account Name and Password boxes. Click Next.

8. Click Finish.
Important Notice:
All mail accounts are setup to use SMTP Authentication
To configure authenticated SMTP in Outlook Express:
1. From the Tools menu,
select "Accounts..."
2. Highlight your Mail account
3. Click the "Properties" button on the right
side.
4. Choose the "Servers" tab.
5. Check the box next to "My server requires authentication."
6. Click the "Apply" button.
7. Click the "OK" button. |
